S.A.M (The Story Archivists in Manchester)

Collection:

Recommended by Made

The Story Archivists of Manchester (S.A.M.) is a secret organisation who have been archiving the stories of children from Manchester for hundreds of years. More recently S.A.M has been left in the hands of Isah, a talented archivist but things have got a little on top of him and he needs some help. Isah sends the children a box of treasures from the archive and over a series of lessons the children are tasked with finding out what the object is and what aspect of Manchester's history the object belongs to.

Fully linked to the Key Stage 2 History Curriculum and the UNICEF rights of a child, S.A.M is a series of 5 planned sessions aimed at Upper Key Stage 2 pupils which can be taught over a half term or during a history week. All the sessions contain everything you need to create some immersive magic in your classroom and all resources can be delivered to your school.

During the pilot phase of the project we are also offering to support delivery of the sessions by delivering the first session for you. Get in touch to find out more (maya@z-arts.org and/or hannah@z-arts.org) Contact us to find out more about how to deliver the project.
