Thanks to funding from GMCA, we secured some fantastic equipment to give the Creative Influencers the chance to make their own animations to help them develop their digital arts skills!

They have met the wonderful Yasmin, a young animation artist who will be guiding them through their journey of creating a self-directed video piece telling people all about what it means to be a Creative Influencer and a young people within MADE.

They’ve kicked things off with storyboarding and research sessions and have already thought about the styles and transitions for their animated piece. They’ve also been reflecting on some of their highlights from previous sessions:

"Art is meaningful for curiosity, to have a sense of beauty and emotional intelligence."
"Drama allowed me to flourish as a person - you had a seed planted so it's up to you if you want it to grow into something beautiful."
Creative Influencers (Franki and Binish) storyboarding their animation.

Coming back from the summer break, they’ve been to Contact Theatre and The Royal Exchange where they’ve been developing their ideas and experimenting with Procreate to create digital art.

For a bit of a refresher on the background context of the group...

The Creative Influencers are a group of young people who meet monthly in different arts & culture venues to develop their creative skills and contribute their perspectives to MADE’s activity. They meet with cultural leaders and staff to discuss how arts and cultural venues can be made more accessible for young people whilst developing future project ideas for the group.

If you would like to learn more about the group or know a young person that might enjoy it, please get in contact with us at mademcr@z-arts.org.
